Before you knew me I saw you 

Head lifted proud with your chin pointed towards the sky, not a worry for the people around each side. 

His shoulders squared as he set his path. Each step demanded attention, his authority radiating silent  commands. 

I hid behind the corner as he rounded the corner; memorized by this. His long legs stepped habitually to that army call; while his hips still swayed with boyish wonder.

 He shifted his weight like the water sways during a calm sunrise. 

His focus never deterred from his goal, and as he lifted his chin those eyes caught the light; 

my breath hit my throat like the burnt end of a cigarette.

 blue eyed boys have never burned like this.
